About Electrical Steel
Geometo trades electrical steel — also known as silicon steel or lamination steel — a specialised alloy with silicon content ranging from 1.5% to 3.5%, engineered specifically to reduce core losses in electromagnetic applications. We source both Cold Rolled Grain Oriented (CRGO) and Cold Rolled Non-Grain Oriented (CRNGO) grades alongside Hot Rolled Electrical Steel and Transformer Scrap.
Our electrical steel is sourced from established mills across Japan, South Korea and India, supplied with full mill test certificates confirming silicon content, core loss values (W/kg) and magnetic permeability. We serve transformer manufacturers, motor winding plants, renewable energy equipment makers and secondary processors across our active export markets.

CRGO — Cold Rolled Grain Oriented
Si 2.9–3.5% · Hi-B / ConventionalGrain-oriented silicon steel with magnetic properties optimised in the rolling direction. Used exclusively in transformer cores where consistent flux direction is controlled. Available in Hi-B (high permeability) and conventional grades in thicknesses 0.23 mm, 0.27 mm, 0.30 mm and 0.35 mm. Full mill test certificates confirming core loss (W/kg) and flux density (Tesla) provided.

CRNGO — Cold Rolled Non-Grain Oriented
Si 1.5–3.2% · Full & Semi-ProcessedNon-grain-oriented silicon steel with uniform magnetic properties in all directions — ideal for rotating machinery including motors, generators and small transformers. Available full-processed and semi-processed in thicknesses 0.35 mm, 0.50 mm and 0.65 mm. Widely used by motor manufacturers across India, Spain and South Korea.

Hot Rolled Electrical Steel
Si 1.5–2.5% · Plate & CoilHot rolled silicon steel in coil and plate form. Thicker gauge (0.50 mm to 2.0 mm) with moderate magnetic properties. Used in large industrial motors, generators and distribution transformers where tight tolerance is less critical than in precision lamination grades. Cost-effective solution for bulk motor manufacturing applications.

Transformer Scrap
Si 2.5–3.5% · Decommissioned CoresHigh-silicon scrap from decommissioned power and distribution transformer cores. Typical composition: Si 2.5–3.5%, C 0.05%, free of copper windings, oil and insulation materials. Premium charge material for secondary electrical steel producers. Available in sheared lamination bundles or loose pieces.
